Will Nelson

Physiotherapist
BSc HCPC

Will graduated from the University of Salford in 2020 with a BSc (Hons) in Physiotherapy. Alongside his role at Cheshire Physioactive, he works within the NHS as a Specialist Physiotherapist, where he has developed broad clinical experience in the assessment, treatment and rehabilitation of patients with a range of musculoskeletal and neurological conditions.

Will brings this experience to his evening clinics at Cheshire Physioactive, providing thorough, evidence-based assessment and individually tailored rehabilitation. He has a particular interest in helping patients regain strength, mobility, confidence and function following injury, surgery or periods of reduced activity.

A keen sportsman himself, Will plays rugby at a high level for Cheshire as well as Bowden and maintains his own fitness through regular strength and conditioning training. His sporting background gives him a strong understanding of the physical demands placed on athletes and has contributed to a particular interest in the rehabilitation of younger athletes, including safe progression from injury through to training and return to sport.

Alongside sports rehabilitation, Will enjoys working with older clients and those with more complex rehabilitation needs. He makes full use of our bespoke rehabilitation gym to develop progressive, individualised programmes focused on strength, balance, mobility and functional independence. His approach ensures rehabilitation is appropriate not only to a patient’s condition, but also to their individual goals and lifestyle.

Central to Will’s practice is his commitment to outstanding patient care. His professional, approachable and reassuring manner helps patients feel welcome and at ease from their first appointment, while his considered approach to rehabilitation ensures they feel supported and confident throughout their recovery.

Outside of physiotherapy, Will continues to enjoy competitive rugby alongside strength and conditioning training, giving him valuable first-hand insight into both athletic performance and the importance of effective injury prevention and rehabilitation
