Kirsty Kellett
Chartered Physiotherapist
BSc HCPC
Kirsty graduated from the University of Salford in 2020 and has since developed broad clinical experience across both musculoskeletal and neurological physiotherapy.
Prior to taking a three-year sabbatical in Australia, Kirsty worked within the NHS at Salford Royal alongside her role at Cheshire Physioactive, where she provided evening and weekend physiotherapy support. Her varied caseload included patients presenting with both musculoskeletal and neurological conditions. She has also provided pitch-side first aid, acute injury assessment and rehabilitation support for a local rugby union club.
During her time in Australia, Kirsty has continued to develop her physiotherapy career while embracing the opportunity to travel. She initially worked within aged care, where she played an important role in rehabilitation, leadership and discharge planning. This involved supporting older adults with a range of complex needs, including neurological conditions, with a strong focus on maintaining mobility, independence and function.
Kirsty has also gained valuable experience working with children with complex neurological needs, further broadening her neurological rehabilitation skills.
She is currently working within a hospital in Sydney, providing physiotherapy to inpatients with a range of acute and chronic orthopaedic and neurological conditions. This experience has further strengthened her skills in assessment, rehabilitation, multidisciplinary working and the management of patients with complex clinical presentations.
Outside of physiotherapy, Kirsty remains very active and continues to enjoy swimming and playing netball.
We are delighted that Kirsty will be returning to Cheshire Physioactive in March and look forward to welcoming her back to the team, bringing with her the additional skills and experience she has gained during her time in Australia.
