Caroline Allaway

Specialist MSK Physiotherapist
BSc HCPC

Caroline graduated as a Physiotherapist from the University of Salford in 1992, having previously completed a degree in Sports Science at Bedford College. With more than 30 years of clinical experience, Caroline brings an exceptional depth of knowledge and a wealth of experience in private physiotherapy practice, musculoskeletal rehabilitation and sports injury management to the Cheshire Physioactive team.

Throughout her career, Caroline has worked in established sports injury and private physiotherapy clinics in Salford, York and Tunbridge Wells, treating patients with a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions. Her sporting experience is extensive and includes working with athletes involved in rugby, hockey, triathlon, cycling, handball, cricket, skiing and badminton, from elite-level competitors through to recreational and weekend athletes.

Caroline particularly enjoys the hands-on aspect of physiotherapy and combines her extensive manual therapy experience with individually tailored rehabilitation. She also uses acupuncture to complement her hands-on treatment, where clinically appropriate, helping to provide a comprehensive approach to pain management, recovery and restoration of movement and function.

Having spent many years working within private practice, Caroline understands that excellent physiotherapy is about much more than treating an injury. She takes time to listen to her patients, understand how their symptoms are affecting their everyday lives and develop a treatment plan that is both realistic and achievable. Her maturity, calm nature and reassuring manner are invaluable, particularly when supporting patients who may be anxious about their injury, experiencing persistent symptoms or recovering from more complex conditions.

As a lifelong sport and outdoor enthusiast, Caroline has a genuine understanding of how important it is for people to remain active, mobile and independent at every stage of life. Whether helping an athlete return to competition, supporting someone following injury or surgery, or enabling an older patient to maintain their mobility and confidence, her focus is always on helping each individual achieve the best possible outcome.

Away from the clinic, Caroline is happiest outdoors and keeping active. Much of her spare time is spent looking after her goats and rabbits, ensuring life outside physiotherapy remains every bit as busy as life in the clinic.

Caroline’s combination of extensive clinical experience, hands-on expertise and calm, compassionate approach makes her a highly valued member of the Cheshire Physioactive team.

“I believe we owe it to ourselves to get the best out of our bodies, and as a physiotherapist I believe I can help you achieve that.”
