Ben Goodacre
Rehabilitation Specialist
BSc, CSP Associate
Ben graduated with a First Class Honours degree in Sport Rehabilitation and is an integral member of the Cheshire Physioactive team. Combining excellent clinical knowledge with a genuine passion for helping people achieve their goals, Ben is known for his calm, approachable manner and his ability to make patients feel safe, supported and confident in his expert care.
Ben has developed a particular specialist interest in the assessment and rehabilitation of knee injuries, including complex knee injuries, ligament injuries and post-operative rehabilitation. He has extensive experience in developing progressive rehabilitation programmes designed to restore strength, movement, confidence and function, with a strong focus on helping patients return safely to the activities that matter to them.
Ben is our clinic expert in performance assessment and uses advanced VALD Force Plate technology to objectively assess and monitor strength, balance, asymmetry and physical performance. This allows rehabilitation to be guided by meaningful data rather than symptoms alone, providing clear measures of progress and helping to optimise recovery and reduce the risk of re-injury.
Alongside his sporting and musculoskeletal expertise, Ben works exceptionally well with older clients and individuals living with neurological conditions. He understands that rehabilitation needs to be both clinically effective and achievable, adapting his approach to each person’s abilities, confidence and goals. His friendly and encouraging style helps patients feel comfortable, regardless of their age, physical ability or previous experience of exercise.
Ben also leads weekly circuit-based rehabilitation classes, carefully tailoring exercises to the individual needs and abilities of each participant. The sessions provide a friendly, supportive and non-intimidating environment where patients can exercise together while still receiving individual attention and expert guidance. He also runs a specialist knee rehabilitation class, helping patients develop strength, confidence and function following knee injury or surgery.
Patients particularly value Ben’s approachable nature, attention to detail and reassuring manner. He creates an environment where people feel listened to, understood and safe in his hands, while still being encouraged to achieve their full potential.
Ben is also a key member of the leadership team and plays an important role in the continued development and growth of Cheshire Physioactive. He is actively involved in innovation, performance assessment, service development and introducing new approaches that enhance the patient experience and clinical outcomes.
Outside the clinic, Ben has recently embraced endurance sport himself, taking part in triathlons and progressing towards Ironman events. His personal experience of training, performance and the demands of endurance sport gives him valuable insight into the challenges faced by patients striving to return to high levels of activity.
Whether working with an elite athlete, someone recovering from complex knee surgery, an older adult wanting to improve their mobility and confidence, or an individual living with a neurological condition, Ben combines expertise, compassion and a highly individualised approach to help every patient achieve their best possible outcome.
