Understanding how you walk or run can provide valuable information when you are experiencing pain, recovering from injury, or looking to improve your movement and performance.
At Cheshire Physioactive, our Gait & Movement Analysis service is carried out by specialist members of our physiotherapy team using our AlterG Anti-Gravity Treadmill, standard treadmill and AlterG Stride Smart gait technology.
Stride Smart provides objective information about your walking and running pattern, helping our physiotherapists identify differences between the two sides of your body, changes in gait, and movement patterns that may be contributing to pain or limiting your recovery.
Gait analysis can be particularly useful if you are experiencing pain when walking or running, recurrent running injuries, changes in your walking pattern, or difficulties returning to activity following injury or surgery. It can also be used to help assess running technique and identify opportunities to optimise movement and performance.
The information gained from your assessment is combined with a thorough clinical assessment by our experienced physiotherapy team. This gives us a clearer understanding of how you move and helps us develop a rehabilitation or treatment programme specifically for you.
We can also use gait analysis to monitor your progress throughout rehabilitation, providing objective information to demonstrate changes and improvements as you recover and return to normal activity, running or sport.
Our approach is simple: we use technology to better understand how you move, then combine this information with expert physiotherapy to help you move better.
