Fiona Kellett
Director of Physiotherapy

Fiona attained a BSc in Physiotherapy from Queens College in Glasgow in 1990 and an MSc from Manchester School of Physiotherapy in 1999. Following qualifying in Glasgow she worked in Newcastle and Tyneside before moving to Manchester in 1995 to work at South Manchester University Hospital. Through research and clinical work she has pioneered innovative new treatments in the management of asthma and bronchiectasis. Her work in dysfunctional breathing has involved the identification of new patterns of hyperventilation and panic breathing and research to evaluate the treatment of these patterns. She has presented this work both nationally and internationally and has written and published several medical papers. She has also been involved in undergraduate and post-graduate education and was a lecturer and student mentor at the University of Manchester.

Through her research Fiona worked with a Pharmaceutical company presenting lectures and study days in both the NHS and pharmaceutical industry, locally, nationally and internationally.

Over the last 10 years Fiona has worked locally in the private sector. She is a highly qualified and respected musculoskeletal, spinal and sport injury specialist.
She has worked regularly for British Athletics and England rugby at both a local, regional and international level, providing immediate pitch side emergency care and concussion and return to play assessments.

In developing Cheshire Physioactive Fiona strives to provide a complete patient care package. The clinics diverse and highly skilled staffs allows all patients to achieve their treatment and rehabilitation goals in a unique custom designed physiotherapy and rehabilitation centre. Fiona has an excellent working relationship with all local General practitioners and Consultant Specialists and is a trusted provider for all the major insurance companies.

Ben Goodacre
Rehabilitation Specialist
BSc, CSP Associate

Ben attained his sports rehabilitation degree from Salford University. He has work with elite level rugby and basketball. He also has immediate care in sport qualification, which allows him to provide trauma care at sporting events.
His assessment ensures accurate musculoskeletal diagnosis, which allows appropriate functional rehabilitation.

He has competed at a professional level in basketball and now enjoys maintaining his fitness through a combination of basketball and fitness training.

Sarah Jones
Specialist MSK Physiotherapist

Sarah has recently relocated to the North West from London. Sarah graduated from Manchester Metropolitan University in 2012 with a First Class Honours. With a decade of experience in both NHS trusts and private practice she is confident treating all MSK conditions. However, has a special interest in hip, knee and ankle conditions and traumatic injuries.

Sarah enjoys running and previously led running repairs clinics alongside the London Marathon. She is currently finishing her masters with a research project in national ACL management and return to sports.

Kirsty Kellett
Chartered Physiotherapist

Kirsty graduated from Salford University in 2020. She is currently working in the NHS and provides evening and weekend support to Cheshire Physioactive where she treats patients with both neurological and MSK problems. She is also the physiotherapist for Warrington Rugby Union Football Club providing pitch side first aid and injury treatment and rehabilitation.

In her leisure time, Kirsty enjoys swimming and playing netball.

Anthony Lyons-Martin
Rehabilitation Specialist BSc
CSP Associate

Since graduating in 2009 with a BSc in Sport & Exercise Science. Anthony has spent the past 12 years working as a specialist pilates instructor and 1:1 trainer in both commercial gyms and rehabilitation environments.

He holds a full equipment APPI Pilates instructor certificate, is GP referral qualified and certified back pain instructor.

He has joined the Cheshire Physioactive team to provide a pilates and specialist rehabilitation service to our client base.

Claire Ryan
Rehabilitation Specialist

Claire has always had a passion for sport and exercise which led her to pursue a career in healthcare. She studied a BSc in Sports Rehabilitation and Athletic Therapy and graduated from the Institute of Technology, Carlow (Ireland) in 2014.

Prior to joining the team at Cheshire Physioactive, Claire worked extensively in London in private practice and has also had experience working in Ireland with sports teams including Salthill Devon F.C., and in the UK with several Gaelic Football, Hurling teams and Rugby teams. Her experience whilst in London has included both the treatment and rehabilitation of musculoskeletal patients and adults and children with neurological conditions. She gained valuable experience in using the state of the art Alter G anti gravity treadmill and hydrotherapy to enhance rehabilitation. While working in this field she gained a special interest in the treatment and rehabilitation of highly complex conditions and chronic pain.

In her free time she loves to train and play sport and enjoys playing and listening to music.

She continues to apply her knowledge and expertise in exercise rehabilitation at Cheshire Physioactive and aims to help patients achieve their health and well being goals.

Racheal Roberts
Chartered Physiotherapist

I graduated from Sheffield Hallam University in 2020 with a First Class BSc Honours in Physiotherapy.
I worked for a couple of years in Liverpool and now work in Manchester as a Specialist Physiotherapist on a femoral fracture unit.

I’m looking forward to joining Cheshire Physioactive and treating all musculosketal injuries with a particular interest in post fracture recovery.

In my spare time I like to go to the gym, read books, and spend time with friends and family!

Claire Danquah
Specialist Physiotherapist

Claire trained as a physiotherapist from 1993, graduating with 1st class honours in 1996 from the University of Keele, Staffordshire. After completing her junior rotations through the different specialities at the Salford Royal Hospital Manchester, and as a senior physiotherapist at Manchester Royal Infirmary/St Mary’s hospital she specialised in outpatient physiotherapy (spinal pain/dysfunction; joint problems and other musculoskeletal injuries including sports injuries). During this time she began his progression to becoming a Clinical Specialist Physiotherapist as well as gaining further post graduate qualifications in Manual Therapy from the Manchester Metropolitan University. She also furthered an interest in analysing movement patterns and coaching of enhanced motor control with formal training (Kinetic Control).

After a career break travelling around the world, with further post graduate training she became a Clinical Specialist in musculoskeletal medicine with a special interest in spinal and lower limb rehabilitation. Over the years, she has worked both within the NHS, as an advanced Musculoskeletal practitioner, assessing and managing complex patients presenting with a wide variety of neuromusculoskeletal dysfunction, including the appropriate use of investigations, injection therapy for joint and soft tissue pain, and has also worked within the private practice sector over the span of her career treating musculoskeletal pain and injuries.

Claire has worked successfully with a wide variety of clients over the past 23 years including amateur and professional athletes, clients undertaking significant fitness/physical challenges, clients with multiple health challenges as well as regular, more traditional physiotherapy patients.

Claire’s philosophy is to provide a bespoke service for clients and patients that is science based and provides excellent value for money and the time spent. Claire works to deliver a consistent service so that any one session at any time meets a high standard. She is also keen to offer superior customer service particularly priding herself on flexibility and honesty in her dealings with clients.

Personal Life. I am married with 3 children of which all train to a high standard in athletics and dance, so I am always ‘at work’ ensuring they keep themselves fit and hopefully injury free. I am a keen netballer and play regularly for a local team which I thoroughly enjoy.

Helen Owen

Helen received her BSc in physiotherapy at Northumbria University in 2019. Since then, she has worked in Wrightington, Wigan and Leigh Trust in a Paediatric MSK clinic and has completed her rotations at Manchester Foundation University Trust. Helen enjoys working with both adults and children, with particular interest in traumatic and sporting related injuries. She is passionate about helping people reach their full potential and achieve their personal goals through supportive manual and therapeutic practices.

Helen has competed at a high level in netball, swimming and rowing. She enjoys playing golf, keeping active and spending time with family and friends in her spare time.

Jane Webb
Practice Manager

Jane has a 20 year history of working in an Office manager role. She is highly experienced in all aspects of practice management and ensures the smooth running of the clinic. Her warm and friendly professional personality ensures all patients and staff are made to feel welcome and supported.

Audra Selly
Assistant Practice manager

Audra worked for over 20 years as a qualified nurse in the NHS before moving to a business management role.

Her combined experience of patient care and administration helps to keep our clinic reception welcoming and efficient.

In her spare time Audra loves to be out walking, as part of a team she trekked to the summit of Kilimanjaro raising money fro charity.

Lily Ball

We are delighted to welcome Lilly to our team. She is currently studying for her A Levels and hopes to go on to university to study physiotherapy.

She is an accomplished dancer and a great asset to Cheshire Physioactive.

Erin Curyer

Erin joins us on a Saturday to support our therapists. She currently attends 6th from and is hoping to study Physiotherapy at University.

She is accomplished in netball and her bright cheerful personality is an asset to our reception team.

Niamh Robinson

Niamh is currently studying nursing and provides additional support to our reception team. Niamh has a caring approach to all of our patients needs ensuring the experience at Cheshire Physioactive is a positive one.
